The air was crisp. The wind blew slightly, gently making the trees as the wind passed them by. The sky was a beautiful blue that was beginning to darken with the coming night. The sun was lower in the sky and the clouds were illuminated. Everything was perfect together, hue-wise. All the colored mixed nicely and it was pleasing to the eye. It was quite the peaceful setting to take in.
Auksalak stood in the entrance of the den, watching the clouds as they gently wisped across the sky slowly. He loved observing the sky and taking in it’s features; it fascinated him how such a simply pleasure that was always around could always be so bre
“What exactly is our purpose here again?” Qamanirjuaq asked the group of five tokotas. Following behind was a small wolf who tried to make itself the leader of the pack, but hadn’t exactly succeeded.
“We’re just taking a walk, is that so wrong?” Melvin frowned, his mop of hair pooling around his eyes as he lowered his head.
“Yes, as a matter of fact it is. I have better things to do than ‘take a walk’.” Qamanirjuaq raised her head proudly.
“Oh shut up Quack, all you’re going to do is sit in the den and do absolutely nothing, just mess with your fur and make it even

The King's Orders | Akamaru - Rite of Knowledge
“We humbly accept this task.” Vidar bowed to the man standing before him. I watched from a short distance as Vidar took the hand of the man and kissed it - a friendly and proper gesture in Vidar’s world. The man seemed a little taken off guard as he raised his hand away from Vidar, rubbing it gently with a hint of disgust in his eyes.
“Good, now be gone! Find her!” The man demanded, raising his arms high in the air and earning a collective clap from the people around him. I shifted uncomfortably in the gold armor that had been draped over me. The cold, hard metal was not comfortable at all, but looking at Vida

I could sense the tenseness in Vidar’s arms as he held my lead. I knew he was nervous for this day for a while, but it was more apparent now. He was releasing a scent that did not signify confidence.
Of course, I was nervous too, but I didn’t understand why he was so nervous for me. Surely I’d do fine, right? I may not be as beautiful as my mother, but surely my white fur and my straight spine would make up for that.
We walked towards the field. There was a fence surrounding a circular patch of dirt. There were many tokotas and their handlers surrounding the fenced-in area, and a tokota stood in the middle with their ha

Kaoyan and Amalthea sat on the edge of a small cliff, watching the world go by beneath them. Birds sang and danced in the skies and smaller animals bounced and ran and walked across the fresh green grass. Amalthea was deep in thought, wondering about her life in this small “pack” and trying to recall a reason why she would want to leave. Of course, she wanted to go off and find a mate and create her own pack, but something about this weird little clan made her happy. Normally, packs were made up of a tokota, their mate, and their pups, perhaps another family joined them occasionally, but forming a pack with three other single bac
